Abigail Marano

The Lady Spikers evened out things with the team that dealt them their only setback so far this season.

Sophomore Ara Galang had 20 points while reigning MVP Abigail Marano added 12 as La Salle defeated UST in straight sets 30-28, 25-15, 25-19. It’s the team’s 7th straight win after dropping their opening day match against the Tigresses.

The Lady Spikers engaged UST in a tight first set but come the second, they thrashed the Tigresses right from the start.

UST took an early lead in the 3rd set and kept it close towards the halfway point, but a furious charge by the Lady Spikers helped them pull away for good and seal the win.

La Salle remains on top of the standings at 8-1, two games ahead of slumping ADMU. UST falls to 5-4, tied for fifth with NU.
