Revillosa notches double-double as La Salle eases past UE in bounce back win

How do you recover from a blowout loss? By putting in one yourself.

With their rout at the hands of the National University Lady Bulldogs still fresh in the memory, the De La Salle University Lady Archers routed the University of the East Lady Warriors, 91-58, Saturday morning at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The result ends a two-game skid for La Salle and raises its win-loss record to 2-2 after four games.

We had a good start and the good thing is our rookies to stay in the game, play defense and get their rhythm in the game. Coming off a very tough loss last game, I think the experience they got in that game helped a lot in this game,” commented coach Cholo Villanueva.

The Lady Archers enjoyed a hot start to the game with a 10-point cushion by the end of the first period. Despite a big lead by the break, they did not let lessen their intensity and continued to execute on both ends to the floor. In the game’s dying seconds, Rhea Castillo’s gave La Salle its biggest lead of the ballgame at 91-56.

Kent Pastrana led all scores with 20 points followed by Vea Malarde’s 15 and Angel Quingco’s 14. Senior forward Bennette Revillosa contributed 12 markers and 11 boards to the Lady Archers’ cause.

La Salle hopes to build on this win when it takes on Far Eastern University on September 18, 2019, 10:00 AM at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
