La Salle goes back to winning ways at UP’s expense

Following its pulsating draw against the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigresses last March 9, 2019, the DLSU Women’s Football Team bounced back with a 3-0 win over the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, last March 16, 2019, at the Circulo Verde field in Quezon City.

Goals from skipper Kyra Dimaandal, Irish Navaja and rookie Shai del Campo did the trick for La Salle in what turned out to be a pleasant afternoon for the Green & White.

Long-time mentor Hans-Peter Smit commented, “As coaches, we already know what can be done by our players. This game, I’d say (the players) went up to 90 percent of their game.”

Dimaandal opened the floodgates at the 28th minute with a long-range strike while Navaja’s rebound and del Campo’s finish from close range sealed the deal at the 50th and 60th minutes.

The result elevates La Salle’s standing to 7 points and Smit’s wards hope to finish the first round strongly against Far Eastern University on March 20, 2019, 3:00 PM.
