Green Spikers still searching for that first win

The DLSU Green Spikers continue to struggle early in the season.

That elusive first win remains on the line as the team lost to defending champion NU 25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 18-25 earlier today for their third loss in as many games. Veterans Geraint Bacon and Cris Dumago topscored with 16 and 12 points respectively.

Their first two setbacks came at the hands of Ateneo and Adamson, all in four sets.

Out of the final four picture in the last five seasons, the Green Spikers are in a rebuilding phase with half of the squad being rookies.

They are now under the tutelage of Arnold Laniog, the team’s 4th head coach in four years. Laniog previously piloted the men’s volleyball team of the College of St. Benilde to the NCAA title in 2017 and a runner-up finish this past season.

Finishing 6th for four straight years already, there’s no where to go but up for the Green Spikers.

The team looks to finally barge into the win column this coming Saturday against UP.
