The Weekly Rundown: Lady Archers bounce back

The Lady Archers bounce back from last Sunday’s blowout loss to FEU with a 73-63 win over UST yesterday. With the win, the team puts a stop to its 2-game skid to tie the Tigresses in third place with a 3-2 slate.

Rookie Angel Quingco stepped up big for La Salle as she finished with 13 points along with an impressive 21 rebounds.

The Lady Archers’ upcoming matches will be against UP this coming Saturday and on October 10 versus Ateneo.

In Beach Volleyball, the Lady Spikers duo of Michelle Morrente and Tin Tiamzon prevailed over Ateneo 2-0 last Friday.

They followed it up with another straight-set victory over UE last Tuesday to tie NU for 2nd place at 4-1. They were supposed to face the Lady Bulldogs later that day but the match was called off due to heavy rain.

The men’s team unfortunately remain winless in 6 matches.

In Badminton, defending women’s champion La Salle lost their opener last Thursday against Ateneo but managed to chalk up three straight wins for a share of second place.

Meanwhile, the men’s team are currently in the middle of the pack at 2-2 after losing to Ateneo 2-3 last Sunday.

La Salle continues to dominate Women’s Table Tennis as they remain undefeated after 12 matches. The men’s team however continue to struggle with a 5-7 record.

Finally in Chess, La Salle remains on top in the women’s division standings while the men’s team are surprisingly in the second to the last spot.
