Anim-0. Lady Spikers thrash Ateneo to remain undefeated in 6 games.

The end-result was a foregone conclusion right from the start.

Mika Reyes scored 13 points while Ara Galang added 10 as the De La Salle Lady Spikers easily disposed of the Ateneo Lady Eagles 25-16, 25-20, 25-16 for its sixth straight win in as many games.

After a shaky start, La Salle managed to regroup to take a 13-11 advantage. With Reyes and Galang leading the charge, the lead went up to 6. After Ateneo narrowed the gap 20-16, the Lady Spikers went for the jugular, scoring the next 5 points and won the set off an emphatic block from Abi Marano and Kim Fajardo.

La Salle started the second set strong as they raced to a 4-0 lead. The Lady Eagles managed to keep in step led by Alyssa Valdez and Amy Ahomiro. Another scoring run by the Lady Spikers at the half-way mark gave them a 22-16 lead. Ateneo refused to wilt as they answered with a run of their own to pull within 3 but their momentum was cut short as La Salle managed to seal the win in the end.

The third set saw La Salle erecting a 7-point lead as Ateneo succumb to errors. Leading 23-16, Mika Reyes scored on a kill to put the team at matchpoint. The Lady Spikers finished the game with another block to extend their winning run in the UAAP to 22 games.

La Salle dominated the blocks department 12-4.

The team goes for the first round sweep on Wednesday against winless UE.
