Camille Claro

If a team plays with all out heart, nothing is sweeter with the epic win that comes along with it.

Camille Claro scored 16 big points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the Lady Archers’ 81-74 stunning overtime win against the UST Tigresses earlier today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Down by 63-66 with 1.8 seconds left in the regulation, the rookie floor general hit the biggest shot of the game via her buzzer beater from the beyond the arc to force the extra period.

With the sudden jolt of energy with that miraculous shot, the Lady Archers got more aggressive in the overtime period and the team never looked back as the guard combo of Trisha Piatos and Claro made things tough by hitting timely jumpers leading to their 81-74 win.

This win marks another Finals trip for the Lady Archers. The team now awaits the winner of the rubber match between the NU Lady Bulldogs and the Adamson Lady Falcons.

Down by 15 points entering into the second half, the Lady Archers decided to shift into high gear with their signature defense as they slowly chopped UST’s big lead.

The Lady Archers went into full throttle after unleashing a 21-10 run to end the third period as the team found itself within striking distance facing a slim 48-51 deficit against UST.

The scores:

DLSU (81) – Piatos 28, Claro 16, Abaca 14, Santos 8, M. Ong 5, Vergara 2, Ramos 2, Melendres 2, Garcia 2, Corcuera 2, A. Ong 0.

UST (74) – Reyes 17, Rivera 16, Cortes 13, Ong 9, Magdaluyo 5, Felisarta 5, Salvador 4, Mejia 3, Angeles 2.
