Lost a set but not the game. Lady Spikers beat FEU for a record 26th consecutive win

They were finally tested in this game. But it’s a test they still managed to pass with flying colors.

In a game in which they finally lost a set this season, the De La Salle Lady Spikers showed resolve to escape with a 4-set win over the FEU Lady Tamaraws 25-11 23-25 25-20 25-10.

Mika Reyes and Ara Galang topscored with 11 points each while Kim Fajardo added 10 for the still undefeated three-time defending champions.

The Lady Spikers jumpled right out of the game in the opening set, pulling an easy 25-11 win.

The second set saw the team go toe-to-toe with FEU as they were unable to pull away. Unable to deliver that strong finishing kick to close the set, they allowed the resillient Lady Tamaraws to pull off a stunning come-from-behind win.

FEU sustained their momentum in the third set with a 8-3 set. The Lady Spikers were able to come back to put themselves with striking distance. With FEU leading 16-14, La Salle went on a 9-4 blitz to seize control and take the set.

La Salle was able to regain their composure in the fourth set as they took charge right from the start as they go on to notch their tenth win in as many games this season. They also surpass their previous record of 25 consecutive wins.

This also is coach Ramil De Jesus’ 200th win. Prior to this game, he holds a 199-49 win-loss record in 15 years handling the 8-time UAAP champions.
